Qualified lawn bowlers are encouraged and invited to join and become members of the Palm Creek Lawn Bowling Club.
Afternoons on the green are reserved for Club members. Most often there is a “jitney” (open tournament) in which teams are decided before games start, usually by more experienced teachers and skips. On Friday afternoons, members traditionally wear "whites;" hat, shirt, pants, shoes and socks.
Most often, an afternoon jitney is comprised of two games, of 8 ends each. After the first game, the winners move up one rink, and the losing team moves down one rink. And the skips (captain of the team) switch teams. This makes for a fun mix.
From time to time there are Club tournaments for members. And be sure and include socials and the occasional pot luck dinner / meeting event. Happy hours have been known to form at the pavilion after conclusion of an afternoon jitney.
There is an annual membership fee of $20 which covers expenses associated with operation of the Club.
The season for lawn bowling at Palm Creek generally begins in early November and runs through March.
