The Palm Creek Lawn Bowling Club is a popular activity at Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort in Casa Grande, Arizona. The beautiful manicured green, clubroom and facility is located at the junction of Clubhouse Drive and Palm Creek Blvd, next to the south pavilion. For many “snowbirds,” our lawn bowling is like a magnet drawing bowlers to return to Palm Creek year after year.
Residents and renters at the Resort are invited to participate in our lawn bowling activities. Women and men enjoy the game and are able to play, participate and compete in the fun and camaraderie. Lawn bowling is not a strength activity, but involves more technique, strategy and cooperation.
Lessons are provided starting approximately November 16th at start of season and will be every Thursday (subject to change, so check the white board at the bowling greens). Come by the clubroom at the green for an introductory session to lawn bowling.
Because the manicured real grass playing surface (called “the green”) is delicate, lawn bowlers wear shoes that have flat bottoms, or tennis shoes that do not dig into the grass. You will learn more about this in your introductory session.
The Palm Creek green is made up of eight playing lanes called “rinks.” Each rink is 14 feet wide and 120 feet long. You will learn more about this, the bowls, jack, mats in your introductory session to lawn bowling.
Other pages in our website go into more detail about lawn bowling. The important thing is to get you through your introductory lesson so that you can come out and have fun lawn bowling on the green.
